In the 21st century, more and more people are choosing to celebrate the special moments in their lives in their own way, and in places other than the churches where they traditionally might have done in the past. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to venues for weddings, funerals, baby namings and all the other life events which mean so much to us; they can literally be hosted anywhere from stately homes to barns and everywhere in between.

For many, this freedom of choice enables them to have ceremonies which are free of religious elements and concentrate on celebrating the joy of the occasion (or, in the case of a funeral, to truly celebrate the life of their loved one). This is where a Celebrant comes in, as he or she can work with the people concerned to write and develop a service which is unique to them and their occasion.
